Do I need two blogs?
I recently signed up for Bearblog after finding it a couple of months ago. I currently use Ghost for my proper blog and I thought about transitioning to Bearblog instead because I wasn't sure if I needed all the bells and whistles of Ghost. I decided to stick it out, though, as a more "official" space for thoughtful, constructed blog posts.
So why am I here then? I kind of wanted a place to write down some quick thoughts and takes. I don't want to make outlines or struggle to put out a post that might only be a couple of paragraphs. I'm reminded of the days of LiveJournal and Diaryland1 where I would talk about anything and everything under the sun. Some posts were only a couple of sentences, while others were long and sprawling. I kind of just wanted a place to empty my brain or share my thoughts on certain things that don't really qualify an organized post.
Do I need two blogs? No. Do I want two blogs? YES! Not sure how often I'll use this place, but it's nice having a less in-your-face, tucked away space to share my thoughts.
Diaryland is apparently still around! I got an email about it recently. Sadly, my diary is archived and I would need to pay to restore it and though I'm curious about what those 10 posts from 15-20 years ago say, I don't want to fork over the cash just to find out.↩
